Qeep Group signs agreement to purchase AB Motala Verkstad

AB Motala Verkstad is one of Sweden’s oldest machining and engineering businesses and an established supplier of high quality mechanical products and services. AB Motala Verkstad was founded in 1822 by Baltzar von Platen to manufacture the large quantity of iron parts, tools, locks, and bridges that were needed during the construction of Göta Canal. Amongst the products that Motala Verkstad produces for their customers are heavy-duty shafts for ships, medical technology equipment, movable bridges, offshore components such as risersystems to extract oil and gas at sea and pumps for the process industry.
- AB Motala Verkstad is a specialized company with a number of very good customers. We see a good potential for growth and see this as a long-term commitment in Motala, says Anders Holm, CEO of Qeep Ventures, part of Qeep Group.
AB Motala Verkstad is leading the development of complex mechanical products and has the market’s most extensive product range. The company has approx 125 employees and a turnover of 174 MSEK (2009). Amongst the customers are companies as Elekta, Tetra Pak, Scana Industrier, Siemens and Metso.
